ANTI-WRINKLE

Anti-Wrinkle

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections contain botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) which relaxes and weakens the muscles that are responsible for wrinkles, frown lines and excessive sweating. These muscle relaxants are a powerful non-surgical treatment – this injectables treatment smooths unwanted lines for a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. This is by far the most common cosmetic medicine treatment worldwide.

The procedure involves a small amount of the prescribed product being administered into the selected facial muscle/s using a very fine needle. The injections may sting for a few seconds, but there is minimal pain during this treatment. When can apply topical anaesthetic prior to your treatment if you are concerned?

Your specialist Nurse Injector will explain the treatment in detail and whether it is the right treatment for you. At Bobbie Charles Anti-Wrinkle Brisbane, we invite you to ask us questions to ensure we have your trust. All of our Practitioners will ensure that you receive a comprehensive explanation of what to expect before, during, and after a treatment. Although treatment time is short, the effects are long lasting, softening lines wrinkles for up to six months.

Results:

Anti-wrinkle injections temporarily relax muscles within the body. Most patients notice a difference after three days, with optimum results visible at two weeks. Results typically last for three to six months meaning maintenance visits are necessary and to be expected every 3-6 months. To ensure that you are happy and that optimal results are achieved, it is recommended that you attend a review appointment and assessment at two weeks to check muscle activity and aesthetic outcome.

At your appointment you’ll speak with us about your background and medical history and our Nurse will formulate a treatment plan for your wrinkles, which may include other therapies in addition to the injections. At your anti-wrinkle injection appointment our Nurse will map out the area to be treated by examining your ability to move certain facial muscles. Sometimes ice packs and / or anaesthetic is used to numb the treatment area. Then a number of small injections are made in an area targeted to the muscles which are causing your wrinkles, each to a specific depth and with a specific volume of product.

Yes. The doses used for cosmetic applications are very low. In addition, the injections are used to treat millions of patients each year and have a proven safety track record with no long-term side effects.

Wrinkles are caused by the habitual and uncontrollable contraction of some of the tiny muscles of the face, which wrinkle up the overlying skin. Anti-wrinkle injections work to alleviate wrinkles on a biological basis; by blocking the signal from the brain which tells your wrinkle-causing muscles to contract.

The product we use at Bobbie Charles is a modified form of a naturally occurring substance which blocks the signals between your facial nerves and these superficial muscles, which ultimately allows the skin to relax.

Anti-wrinkle injections are primarily recommended for the treatment of crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines. They are can also be used to produce a brow lift by lifting or shaping the position of the patient’s brow.

Combining dermal fillers with anti-wrinkle protein often leads to a much better outcome. It provides more skin tightening and facial rejuvenation, and the skin looks more natural and younger.

The combination of anti-wrinkle injection and dermal fillers is also known as a liquid facelift. Liquid facelift combinations also create stunning results on eye wrinkles, mouth wrinkles, and frown lines.
